Mixed media artist
Working with community groups has been my passion for the past 20 odd years but since moving to Thames I’ve had the time to really explore my own arts practice and continue the practice-based research I started at AUT in 2012. Family narratives have been a starting point for me along with local history and environmental issues. Mixed media has given me the opportunity to play and experiment in so many different directions, through clay, fibre, printmaking and found objects and my favourite.. my father’s tools. My exhibition, Become the River is the culmination of 8 years work, and is installed at Palmers Gallery, situated in an historic building in Grahamstown, Thames, Aotearoa/New Zealand.
Community art projects are still on the horizon however with local festivals and school workshops!
